the gays

scene: lunch at nice-ish vietnamese restaurant with mommy, joy, and melly:

waiter: are you ready to order?
mom: WA-TER
waiter: um- are you ready to order?
mom: oh, yes i do.
waiter: i'll come back in a few minutes

after mom comes back from the restroom:
mom: i found these magazines. i don't know what they are.
joy: its titled "Out Smart" mom. See this byline that says "gay judges for justice?"
mel: and this title that says "GLBT"? whenever you see this acronym it means gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender
mom: oOOoooh i did not know that. "They" have magazines? what do they write about? someone at my office said i was lesbian b/c i only am friends with women. i never thought people think that. do you think that people might think that?
joy and mel: no mom, very doubtful.

later, we come home and are unloading groceries and such. mommy is putting away grociers and such and along with these things she takes out the magazine which we did not know she kept and says, "oh, my gay magazine!"
