today at lunch, allen brought up that jeff cook is dating a chinese girl from china.
this sparked possibly one of the best conversations ever:

allen: hey jeff's dating a chinese girl from china.
mom: i have THREE chinese girls! tell jeff to date one of my girls, they are chinese!
allen: no, mom, he's already dating a girl.
mom: oh, then tell jeff to date joy.
allen: NO, mom, jeff's already dating someone!
mom: jeff?
allen: joe?
mom: joe! look at that, joe, jeff, this whole time i was talking about joe but we were talking about jeff!
alexa: that's because all of the cook children's names start with j's. all 5 of them.
mom: well that's silly, how am i supposed to keep that straight? j, j, j, j,...hey! joy's name starts with j too! joy and jeff!
allen: NO! jeff has a girlfriend!
mom: joe?
allen: yes, joe.
mom: joy and joe! look! and only one letter apart! it just came to me, from god! it came to me! tell jeff to date joy when you go to hawaii.
allen: what am i supposed to do, go in and say, "hey, let me sleep here, oh and date my sister."
mom: yes! you can pray and ask god, he might say "yes, joy should date joe!" and only one letter apart, j-o-e, j-o-y... how come i didn't think of this before?
alexa: and then they could have all sorts of little children with j-names. jack, james...
allen: jon...jaimie...
mom: jello! haha! joy and joe will give birth to little jello!
alexa: and jam!
mom: jello and jam! jello is a boy and jam is a girl! jello and jam! jam and jello! jello, jam, joy, jeff.
allen: joe.
